New York, NY

I Love IT!

New York City could do nothing wrong to me. Despite the fact that it rained and I didn't have an umbrella, despite the fact that I fell in the middle of Madison Street on my butt (what is up with me falling on my ass lately), despite the fact that my lawyer made me cry (don't ask), despite the fact that I ripped my jeans when I fell, despite all that...New York City can do no wrong.

Why you ask?

Because it is alive. There is something about being in N.Y. that makes you feel you are in a movie. All the time. I was sitting in my fav. aunt's office yesterday waiting for her and my fav. uncle to be done with work so we could have dinner, and I felt like I was in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" Well the boss's aren't that evil but the way everyone talked and walked around, it felt so N.Y. It was weired. I felt I had stepped into a different world. The office is specatacular. It is a loft and the design is so retro. And the people talk all different.

Like this co-worker was trying to describe a place to go eat and she was like "yeah you don't want to go there it is sooo like a speak easy" And my aunt understood what she was saying. I of course, ever the moron, sat there grinning like a cheshire cat!

Then we ate at this really nice place called "BarMarche" i think and it was so much fun, just sitting in SoHo (which my aunt later explained meant South of some street or another) and drinking nice drinks was so cool. There was this really gorgeous girl who was serving us. She was dark and had the most beautiful skin! I was so entranced by her smile. She was so dark but her teeth were so straight it was like she was an African/something else. I bet she thought I was gay the way I kept staring at her, so I adjusted my ring so she could see I didn't swing that way.

And then I got to see the kittens. I am soooooooo jealous of every single person that has adopted them. They are so cute. I took pictures and played with the kittens and the momma cat! It is so cool that when I am around my aunt my phobia for cats disappears. I think its because they are different around her. She is the kind of person that animals just go to without any fuss. I on the otherhand get either mualed, chased or attacked. So it is great to be in an area where animals don't attack me. Anyway, I wanted to take the kittens home but I it's not in the budget what with wedding, school and this lawyer crap!

Anyway, hopefully when we are settled in Columbia next year, that I will get to have my kittens!

(Thanks Uncle Al and Aunty Ayo for the Pictures and another great evening! You can do no wrong)

I got to Danbury at 1 and slept my whole day away. No, I did wake up to check who was blogging only to discover the stripper story by my wonderful friend. Check out "Tales from the Hills" for that update.

Gotta call my aunt now, then off to bed again!

Ciao

I am so in love with NY too. When I go it is like going home and to leave always puts a lump in my throat. I had better get working on that best seller so I can buy that place down in Tribeca I have been eyeballing.
In regards to the kitties, I have a bad enough cold so get those dander filled fluff balls away from me.
How the hell are ya girl???
