Great Week Part II

I know you missed me so I apologize for being out of range. Here are the updates of my trip. Pictures will come soon

Wednesday: Caugt a flight to Miami Florida to get my hair done. OKay don't tell me I am stupid because even the thought of what I did is hilarious to me. I arrived in florida on wednesday morning took out my purple hair (no wale there will be no pictures to mark this horrible event) and then got it done. WE finished the hair on Thursday morning, I caught a flight immediately after to go to Chicago. Big ups to my girl Mary for hooking me up. My hair was looking tight at the wedding (pictures will come later).

Thursday: Caught a flight to Chicago and arrived at O'hare as tired as a dog. Only to be told by the Enterprise agent that my rental car had been given away because my flight was late. I was pissed. The only other rental I could find was in Joliet because aparently in Chicago some drag racing tournament was going on and so all the enterprise rental agencies were sold out (I can only rent from enterprise because I am not 25 yet. Yes I am still a child!) Anyway, I caught a $88 taxi (I am pissed about that too) and arrived in Joliet. I got my rental (Mind you I haven't slept since Tuesday) and drove three hours to Michigan to pick up my beautiful mother and my baby (mini me) sister. Oh! did I mention I got lost on my way to Michagan beause of construction on 94? I got turned around and was heading back on 80 towards Chicago for a good 45 minutes. I was pissed! When I was about heading back, the rain storm started. That was crazy. I drove back in a rain storm. I am talking blinding heavy monsoon kind of rain. I couldn't see in front of me. And all these huge trailers were racing by like it was nothing. I was so scared but I tried not to show it cause my mom was praying the whole way in the back. It took us five hours to get back when it should have taken us only two. Went to bed at three in the morning.

Friday: I call this day, D day. This is the day when shit hit the fan. I woke up at 5 so I could meet up with the other bridesmaids and the bride at 6. We had a whole bunch of errands to run before Saturday night (traditional engagement) and Sunday (Wedding). So as not to bore you with details, my causin (Bukky) and I were decorating, shopping running around tired. Officially my feet and head heart, unofficially I was actually enjoying myself. I finally crashed around 4 am, my causin didn't sleep at all. I forgot to mention that I had to pick up two of my other sisters. I got to see Vixen! She was looking hot by the way at the airport. I could have cried with joy but you know I am tough so I didn't!

Saturday: Woke up at 6 am and started getting last minute stuff done. Had some me time with my fav. Causin who is the bride cause we were all in the same suite at the hotel. She is one of the most amazing brides I know. Even with all the stress and last minute mess ups she was calm and happy and enjoying herself. So we started running around again. The caterer was driving us crazy. Then we took some time out for us. We got our nails, hair and eyebrows done (a treat from the bride) and we walked around the mail in our "Bridesmaid" T-Shirts and she had on a Bride T-Shirt. It was so cute (pictures are coming later).

The traditional engagement was beautiful but stressful for me. I enjoyed it though and by the end of the night my causins, sisters and I were tired. A highlight for me was when my mother who doesn't drink alcohol picked up one of the Alize drinks that the Grooms family brought and wanted to open it. My sisters and I were watching her as she read the label. When it dawned on her that it was alcohol we watched her look around to check that no one saw her, put the drink down and slowly back away from the table. It was so funny. Baby arrived tonight. I was so happy to see him and I was so tired and stressed I just let him hold me for a good ten minutes. I didn't want to mess up my make up so I didn't cry! but it was good to have him there for moral support.

Sunday: With baby around I didn't worry about my family because he was in control of that so I put myself into full getting ready for the wedding day gear. The caterer threatened to not show up for the wedding and to pour the food away. I got on the phone and set her straight. NO one was going to mess up my causin's wedding. Another funny moment is the fact that I got dressed at the wedding sight! I had gotten my hair and make-up done but thanks to the caterer I was still running around. So I got to the church, threw on my dress and five minutes later walked down the stairs and down the aisle. It was cool. The wedding was beautiful, the bride was gorgeous, I almost cried, the food was outstanding (the stupid caterer did show up and sprayed me money on the dancefloor) and we all had a good time. And I must say I was proud of my party favors too. (picture to come soon)

So here are a few tipes:
1) Hire me for a wedding planner and I will make sure you dreams come through. No crazy caterer or vendor will mess up your wedding!

2) Hire Dabu International limited! Okay just kidding but soround yourself with people that understand your vision and are positive. My causin had her sister, her bestfriend and I and we were damn sure not going to let anyone or thing ruin her day. She was happy and that made all the blood, sweat and tears (and there were a lot of those) worth it.

I plan to go on vacation after this. Bmore here I come!

So tonight I leave for Atlanta for NANA camp. I have yet to sleep a good six hours straight. My luggage is lost in Laguardia Airport somewhere and I am trying to pack but all my crap is in my box! Great! Talk to you cats later. Let me locate my luggage first!

Missed you all by the way...
